The Inn at Occidental presents FRIDAYS AT THE OX with americana singer-songwriter Dave Hamilton.

Join us Friday evenings from 5:30-7:30pm for Live Music at the OX Wine Bar at the Inn at Occidental.

Dave Hamilton has been playing music in the Folk/Americana genres since 1979 mixing his original compositions with songs from some of the most well known and respected songwriters in these genres, such as John Prine, Jesse Winchester, Bob Dylan, Tom Russell, Tom Waits, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash Buddy Holly Mississippi John Hurt and others

Dave is a multiple award winning songwriter with the West Coast Songwriters association and was voted best singer/songwriter for 2017 and 2018, acoustic Musician of the year for 2019, and best in folk for 2020 and 2021 for the Norbay’s Music awards put out by the Northbay Bohemian and Pacific Sun news weeklies serving Sonoma, Napa and Marin counties. For the Norbays of 2022, Dave was voted best in two categories, Folk and Americana. In 2023 and 2024, he was, once again, voted best in the Folk category. He has released three CD’S. His first CD, “The Back Roads of My Mind” was released in 2008, recorded at Zone Recording in Cotati Calif. under the auspices of Blair Hardman. His second, titled “Thinking About Time” was released in 2012, produced and recorded by Michael Lindner at Alleyone music studio in Healdsburg Calif. His third titled “Ten Cent Prize” was released in 2018 also recorded at Alleyone Studios. All three can be purchased or downloaded from cdbaby, Amazon, iTunes and streamed from various streaming sources. Additionally CD’s can be purchased from the links on this site or at his gigs. Dave is also one of the founding members of the now defunct Bluegrass Band called “The Sonoma Mountain Band which played in the North bay area from 1993 to 2016.

Dave now mostly plays as a solo artist, a duo, a trio, and sometimes a quartet. He has been backed by several outstanding musicians, which include, Michael Lindner, Terry Larson, Michael Bryant, and Bobby Lee on bass. Bill Iberti, Steve Della Maggiora, Adam Traum, Billy Stapleton, and Gary Grubb on guitar, John Karsemeyer and Bill Iberti on mandolin, Alice Fitzwater on fiddle, Bobby Lee on pedal steel and Steve Della Maggiora on accordion and Kevin Russell on guitar, dobro and mandolin.
