Occidental Community Church celebrates 150 years this weekend

The town of Occidental had a unique beginning in 1876. While many pioneer communities started with a saloon or hotel, this settlement—at the summit of the newly established North Pacific Coast Railroad—began with a church.

The Occidental Community Church in 1900. The church was founded and held its first service in 1876.
